John Essex and Guy Rounsaville In-House Counsel Diversity Award:

Awarded to the CMCP member corporate or public agency that has demonstrated the strongest commitment to diversity and inclusion. This award is based on the organization’s:

  • Support of and participation in CMCP
  • Strong record of hiring diverse outside counsel
  • Number and percent of minority attorneys within the legal department, and in management and other leadership roles

  • Practice as a lawyer at a CMCP member majority-owned law firm at the time of the award decision
  • Sustain active involvement in CMCP and/or other diversity organizations
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and significant achievements in promoting diversity at his/her firm
