CMCP Corporate Connections

Corporate Connections is a signature CMCP opportunity for in-house attorneys and outside counsel to meet for intensive 15-minute interviews to establish or strengthen a long-term business relationship.

How Do I Participate in Corporate Connections?

Law Firm Attorneys: To participate in Corporate Connections, law firm attorneys must be employed by a CMCP member law firm, or join CMCP as an individual, with membership dues paid prior to the close of conference registration. To confirm your membership status please email [email protected].

NOTE: Corporate Connections in-house partners commit to provide Attorneys of Color with access to in-house counsel for business development. When registering law firm attorneys to participate in the program, please respect this mission. If you have questions, please contact CMCP Executive Director Robert White at [email protected]

In-House Counsel: In-house attorneys in companies and public agencies that are CMCP member organizations and non-member companies and public agencies may participate in Corporate Connections.  Attorneys must complete the conference registration prior to the Corporate Connections registration deadline. Additionally, CMCP must expressly confirm availability and interviews in the in-house attorneys selected practice areas. For more information, contact [email protected].

CMCP Corporate Connections Match Disclaimer

CMCP cannot guarantee scheduled interviews for an attorney who registers for the conference to participate in Corporate Connections.

Interview scheduling is dependent upon (a) the practice areas and other interview parameters specified by registrants, (b) potential conflicts of interest, and (c) registrants “Do Not Match” requests.

Registration fees are non-refundable for an attorney with no Corporate Connections interviews or if for any reason the attorney cannot meet with a scheduled company or firm.

NOTE: Corporate Connections is just one of many ways in which connections are made and relationships are built at the CMCP Annual Business Conference. CMCP will send complete interview information to those registered for Corporate Connections as soon as feasible after registration closes. If interview slots become available after notification, they will be filled on-site at the conference.

NOTE FOR LAW FIRMS: CMCP assigns Corporate Connections interviews based on a law firm (not individual attorney.) Each firm is responsible for designating the individual(s) or team to attend scheduled interviews:

  • Every attorney who attends Corporate Connections interviews must be registered for the full conference.
  • Interviews are only 15 minutes. Attorneys representing the firm should be well prepared and able to discuss concisely the relevant practice area.
  • Interviewers generally expect to meet with attorneys of color with expertise in the designated interview practice areas.

DO NOT MATCH REQUESTS: CMCP understands there may be companies, public agencies or law firms with which an organization cannot meet due to conflicts or other reasons.
